Models

Jewelry like this doesn’t belong in a box. To be truly appreciated, it needs to be seen and worn. So, we contacted family, friends, friends of friends, co-workers, and long lost relatives. We found many people receptive to the project and very generous with their time.

I am so thankful to all the volunteers who have modeled jewelry for this project. I love the mix of people  involved – men, women, children, teens – all willing to pose for photos. While many models wore Zel’s jewelry in honor of a loved one affected by Alzheimer’s, others chose to participate merely to support this very important cause.

I’d pull out box after box of jewelry, allowing the models the select the pieces they’d wear and I loved seeing their response.  The awe at the enormity of the collection, the smiles and laughter when they’d discover an especially interesting piece and the “aha” moment when they finally found that special set of jewelry they wanted to model. It was fascinating to see how long people would pore over the collection before making their selection.

Time and again I’d hear how much people enjoyed the experience of being a model for this project.  I’m so glad Zel and her jewelry could help people find moments of joy in the face of Alzheimer’s.

If you live in the Chippewa Valley and would be interested in modeling some of the jewelry, contact us at jewelrytribute@gmail.com.
